Weekly, beginning Wednesday 22nd July

Mindfulness Meditation Course
Small group course in Mindfulness Meditation, held online.

Each class is 90 minutes long to allow plenty of time to learn the techniques, practice them and plenty of time for Q & A. The course is held over 5 weeks so that you can practice between classes, on a daily basis to build on your mindfulness skills. The course includes a workbook, a daily journal and downloadable audio meditations to help you to practice.

Week 1:
What is Mindfulness?
Benefits of Mindfulness
Exercise: Mindful Breathing
Exercise: Body Scan
Developing a daily mindfulness meditation practice

Week 2:
Review of the previous week - what did you experience?
Developing  awareness of your body and mind (thoughts, emotions, body sensations)
Exercise: Open awareness

Week 3:
Focused Attention
Exercise: Mindful Listening
Helpful Techniques - STOP
Mindful Thoughts and Emotions

Week 4:
Mantra Meditation
Exercise: Focal Point Mantra Meditation

Week 5: 
Acceptance of what is
Informal Mindfulness Exercises
Developing your own daily mindfulness routine post course
Certificate of completion of course

Tutor: Cheryl Cattarin
Cheryl Cattarin is a Mindfulness and Meditation Teacher, Reiki Practitioner/Teacher and author of the Self-Help book: From Crappy to Happy.

Cheryl has been teaching various  styles of meditation classes for over 30 years. This course is designed to develop your mindfulness skills and incorporate mindfulness into everyday living. The downloadable audio meditations  spoken by Cheryl are a great tool for daily practice.

Is this course suitable for me?

Whilst this is a beginners course suitable for anyone who has  an interest in gaining a better understanding of mindfulness, it is equally as relevant for those that have meditated for many years.  (Mindfulness may be quite different to what you have experienced in your meditations previously). The course is catered to adults (18+ years) looking to build positive mental health practices into their lives to promote well-being.

Note: 
This course may not be  suitable for everyone, as it may exacerbate your feelings. It is important that you receive specialist medical advice from your health care professional in regard to your health care plan and what they would recommend if you have suffered past trauma or deep depression. If you are unsure whether this course is suitable, please contact us to find out more.
