Mindfulness Meditation Course, Sydney

Online Mindfulness Meditation Course

​This is an online small group course in Mindfulness Meditation. Each class is 90 minutes long to allow plenty of time to learn the techniques, practice them and plenty of time for Q & A. The course is held over 5 weeks so that you can practice between classes, on a daily basis to build on your mindfulness skills. The course includes a workbook and downloadable audio meditations to help you to practice.

Week 1:
  • What is Mindfulness?
  • Benefits of Mindfulness
  • Exercise: Mindful Breathing
  • Exercise: Body Scan
  • Developing a daily mindfulness Meditation practice
Week 2:
  • Review of the previous week - what did you experience?
  • Developing  awareness of your body and mind (thoughts, emotions, body sensations)
  • Exercise: Open awareness
Week 3:
  • Focused Attention
  • Exercise: Mindful Listening
  • Helpful Techniques - STOP
  • Mindful Thoughts and Emotions
Week 4:
  • Mantra Meditation
  • Exercise: Focal Point Mantra Meditation
  • 4 Week course - Certificate of completion of course
Week 5: 
  • Acceptance of what is
  • Informal Mindfulness Exercises
  • Developing your own daily mindfulness routine post course
  • Certificate of completion of course

Is this course suitable for me?

Whilst this is a beginners course suitable for anyone who has  an interest in gaining a better understanding of mindfulness, it is equally as relevant for those that have meditated for many years.  (Mindfulness may be quite different to what you have experienced in your meditations previously). The course is catered to adults (18+ years) looking to build positive mental health practices into their lives to promote well-being.

Note: 

Due to this course covering 'handling difficult emotions', the course may not be  suitable for everyone, as it may exacerbate your feelings. It is important that you receive specialist medical advice from your health care professional in regard to your health care plan and what they would recommend if you have suffered past trauma or deep depression.
